The May meeting is on May 29th at 6:30 at the Clubhouse
SUCCESSFULL POOL OPENING DAY We had a nice turn out for the opening day of the pool. I didn't see any adults in the pool, but lots of kids went in the cold water. The large slide, games, cotton candy machine, and popcorn machine were a big hit as well.
I would like to recognize and congratulate Bridget Smith for coming up with the idea and pulling together all of the details to make it a successful event. In addition to Bridget, her husband Josh Smith and Donald Antoncich also worked hard to make sure everything went smoothly. Bridget and Josh ran around all morning picking up the food advancing their own funds to pay for everything. ( They will be re-imbursed by the HOA).
Very well done, we received many many positive comments from those who attended.

The Lake - Drilling a Well At the April meeting, the Board approved moving forward with drilling a well at the lake in order to replenish the water and then to be able to top it off when water evaporates off. It is estimated that it will take 6 months to bring the lake back up to its original level.
We are measuring the depth of the lake and it has lost 2" over the past 3 weeks.
As most of you know, the large lake at the entrance is losing water and shrinking. There has been speculation by some that this is due to Algai in the water. That is not correct. Here are the facts
There has been adequate rainfall over the past year, but there may have been rain deficiencies in the past and there was no method to replenish that water.
According to our engineer, there is not adequate natural run-off to allow the rain water to reach the lake. This is due to how the roads and sewers were constructed as it possibly interferred with the run off to the lake.
There may be fissures at the bottom that can leak water as well.
The lake has not been adequately maintained for some time and now it is taking its toll
Landscaping Processes
The new landscaping company started on March 1st, their process may be different than the previous company, so let's give them some time to get acclamated to some of the specific needs and individual preferences.
We have received reports that certain things are not finished, when they are still on site and working. Their process is to mow all areas first, then to go back and edge, and the final step is to go back and blow everything off and clean up. For the most part the majority of comments we have received are very favorable about how the community looks when they are finished.
For any other issues that they have missed or forgotten, they will be corrected and become part of their process as time goes on. It took quite a while for the previous company to get a handle on all of the specific nuances.
THE LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE IS WALKING THE AREA THE WEEK OF 5/14 TO CAPTURE ANY OF THE ISSUES OR AREAS WHERE THEY ARE NOT PERFORMING.
WE WILL STAY ON TOP OF THE ISSUES UNTIL THEY ARE ALL CORRECTED
Continued Focus on Lawn Maintenance A letter went out to all single family homeowners requesting that the lawns be kept up to stangdards, we are looking forward to voluntary compliance
This focus on lawns and appearance is not just coming from the HOA Board, it is coming from the majority of people in our community, who are affected by those that do not comply.
Please help by taking a look at your lawn and outside appearance of your property, and if needed, make a commitment to improve those conditions.
Common Area Improvements & Maintenance
We held a meeting with the landscaping company and discussed some ideas for various common areas that are in poor condition. We expect to have some preliminary sketches and proposals back within the next w 30 days.
Nothing has been decided, but we will be looking at all options.
